This week I had the pleasure of being able to connect with Logan Young. Logan is the co-founder of BlitzMetrics, an internationally recognized keynote speaker, and an avid water sport enthusiast.

Questions asked were focused on small businesses and new marketers and how we could implement marketing strategy to create more conversion and a bigger ROI. Let's hop into the 4 question interview!

 

1. How can small businesses utilize Facebook and Instagram to boost conversions?

A small business, unlike a big, established enterprise, must make do with limited resources.

That means they can’t do everything— they must be efficient, they cannot afford to risk money and time on unproven techniques.

Thus, their Facebook strategy should be to “amplify” what’s already working. 

Facebook is an amplifier in that regard— the entire system is based on an algorithm that determine what’s hot and multiplies it.

2. What are some of your favorite marketing strategies for small businesses with small budgets (Less than $1500/month)?

Facebook is a pay to play game.  No matter how we might fuss, if we aren’t advertising, we’re not getting sufficient reach.

And as long as our ads are profitable— to take a dollar and give back $5, then we should be happy.

3. What are some marketing errors you constantly see marketers make?

Easy— not having a strategy.

And having a clear strategy means having clear GCT (Goals, Content, Targeting).

4. Do you have any advice for someone new to marketing?

Yes, start with the fundamentals, since they are timeless and powerful.

The mark of the pros is that they focus on fundamentals, not the shiniest new stuff.

The fundamentals are things like AEC (awareness, engagement, conversion— in a funnel), GCT (to have a strategy), and digital plumbing (to be able to measure everything).
